i have visited the csc web site for the first and am delighted to know your order has a presence at central catholic high school in my home town of pittsburgh, pa.
i am south hills catholic hs class of 1969, i am proud to say my sister graduated from fontbonne, my seven younger siblings from lebanon catholic high school, ministered by the CSJ of philly.
also proud and grateful that my two sons attended 13 years of catholic education, including bishop mccort in johnstown, pa. my home for the past 40 years.
brother gerry, i remember your vision in bringing closed circuit tv to shc in the later ’60’s. what a visionary you were.
you appeared at st. bernards one evening to critique and show a film about a serious issue. you invited the adults to attend with their high school aged children. my mother was the only one to accept the invite to include me. it showed female frontal nudity. you presented it as art, acknowledging that the human body was created by God, and in an artistic format, nudity was quite proper. look at all the pieces in museums.
congratulations on your faithful vocation. i am sure you were as loved at the college level as you were at shc. God bless and best wishes from a long ago grad. i am glad the christian brothers continue and prosper. they made my ability to graduate college possible. i then went on to a career as a paper pushing computer geek for the united states department of labor in johnstown, pa. i owe much to the csc and the ssj for forming my life. the catholic church was the origin of this, and i continue to defend and support the catholic church. the church always was and will always be God like, it is human weakness that created the problem.
