Shirley T. Clary, AFSC
Affectionately known to many as Miss Shirley, Mrs. Shirley T. Clary, AFSC, worked at Calvert Hall College High School (CHC) for nearly 40 years before retiring as the assistant to the principal and president. Shirley and her late husband, Mr. Frank G. Clary, AFSC, worked at Calvert Hall for a combined 100 years of service. She was a warm and familiar face to thousands of alumni.
Outside of the front office, Shirley was wife and mother to CHC graduates. She spent countless hours over the past fifty-plus years watching sporting events and student plays, and attending alumni and Parent Club functions.
School principal, Mr. Chuck Stembler ’83, shared, “Shirley was a true gift. Her zeal, kindness, energy, and commitment helped generations of Hall men. I have so many wonderful memories with her. She and Frank are synonymous with Calvert Hall.”
A memorial service for Shirley Clary has been announced:

Shirley T. Clary, AFSC passed away on 6 January 2021 at the age of 84.
Shirley was a longtime secretary at Calvert Hall College High School.
Both she and her late husband, Frank (CHC ’51), were affiliated together in the 1980s.
Their combined service to Calvert Hall totaled over 100 years.
