November 3, 2010 — Starting November 8, 2010, District of Eastern North America will join in CIL 2010 (International Lasallian Centre, or Centro Internazionale Lasalliano in Italian), a program run in conjunction with the Secretariat for Lasallian Family and Association, the Secretariat for Lasallian Educational Mission, the Secretariat for Lasallian Research and Resources, and the Secretariat for Being Brothers Today.
Six members of the District of Eastern North America are being sent to represent us and to bring back the richness of the experience:
- Br. Raymond Blixt, FSC
- Br. Richard Buccina, FSC
- Ms. Lois Harr
- Br. Edward Phelan, FSC
- Ms. Heather Ruple
- Mrs. Pamela Walker
From around the world, over 75 participants will gather for the first three weeks of the program (November 8-27) while the lay Partners will return home and the Brother participants remain two extra weeks to focus on the vow of association for the educational service of the poor.
The first three weeks will center on vocation — as rooted in baptism, on an ecclesiology of communion, and on Lasallian association. This special program is intended for Brothers and Lasallian Partners who are committed to study, personal and prayerful reflection, and discussion of Lasallian Association.
While our District participants are engaged in this experience, we welcome the opportunity to interact with those we have sent. A conversation on Lasallian Association blog and Facebook page will be available to view pictures and posts, and join in the discussions and reflections our delegates are creating throughout their time in Rome during this momentous CIL program.
