West Catholic HS (Philadelphia) played its Thanksgiving football game in front of 18,000 at Phillies Ball Park, also known as the Baker Bowl, which was abandoned by the Phillies in June 1938.

La Salle Military Plays Army-Navy Game

The climax of the football season for La Salle Military Academy (Oakdale, NY) is the “Little Army-Navy” game held in Newark, NJ. Their rival is the Middies from Admiral Farragut Academy, which dubs itself as “Little Navy.” Both schools entertain with formations before the game. LSMA lost this year, 15-0.

Manhattan Cross Country

Manhattan College did the unprecedented by placing nine men in a tie for first in the Metropolitan Cross Country Championships. They also won the IC4A for the second time.

St. Joseph’s Collegiate (Buffalo) won the prep school football championship of western New York.

Christian Brothers Academy (Syracuse), Christian Brothers Academy (Albany), and St. Raphael’s HS (Pawtucket, RI) each won the city football championship in their respective locales.

Novices Football Trip

The Junior Novices from Barrytown, NY, took their annual trip to NYC to watch a football game. This year the feature was Manhattan vs. North Carolina State at Yankee Stadium; the Jaspers won, 3-0.
