South Hills (Seton-La Salle) Wins Tournament
South Hills Catholic HS (Pittsburgh; later renamed Seton-La Salle HS) won the third annual Bishop O’Connell HS basketball tournament (Arlington, VA).

La Salle Wins Quaker City Tournament
The Explorers of La Salle College won the ECAC Quaker City basketball tournament with victories over Northwestern, Georgetown, and St. Bonaventure. In this photograph taken by Charles Sibre (La Salle magazine, Winter 1964), La Salle coach Bob Walters was carried from the Palestra court by his jubilant players.

District Trampoline Arrives

Toronto Sports Stars Attend Banquet
On December 4, the annual football and soccer banquet was held for St. John’s Training School (Uxbridge, ON), with some sports stars from the Toronto Argonauts (CFL) and the Toronto Maple Leafs (baseball) in attendance.

Central and North Catholic Rival Game
The student council of Central Catholic HS sponsored a pre-game parade from Central to the field house of the University of Pittsburgh for the showdown between Central and rival North Catholic; the Vikings prevailed, 65-43.
