West Swim Title

West Philadelphia Catholic HS won the swimming title in the Catholic League this winter, while the track team won trophies at the Penn Relays and at the track meet at the University of Delaware.

De La Salle’s Johnny Quigley came with one second of the world record for the 500 yard race in the recent NYAC Meet. Quigley has broken records in every high school race in which he has competed during the past two years.

St. Augustine’s Track

St. Augustine’s HS (Brooklyn), coached by Al Pinkerton, overwhelmed the best of two mile relay teams from around the East at the national high and prep school championship meet at Madison Square Garden.
