Frank Cafaro receives Letters of Affiliation to the Institute.

Staten Island, NY – On Saturday, November 3, 2018, Mr. Frank Cafaro was presented with the Letters of Affiliation to The Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. For his more than forty-five years of serving as an educator, most especially to the Lasallian educational community at St. Peter’s Boys High School, the Director of Guidance and Lasallian Animator was affiliated during a celebration of the Eucharistic at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church.

“Frank has demonstrated great love for the students of St. Peter’s, forming lifelong relationships,” said Br. Dominic Gisondo, FSC, Sub-Director for the Brothers’ Community and long-time educator at the High School. “He has been, a support, a brother, and a friend to the Brothers’ Community at St. Peter’s and worldwide.”

Having taught Religion, History, and Driver Education prior to becoming Chair of the Guidance Department, Cafaro was also a founding moderator of the Lasallian Youth Groups and Lasallian Youth Summer Assembly, to which he has brought St. Peter’s students for 26 summers. Cafaro has also participated in the first classes of the Lasallian Leadership Institute (LLI) and Buttimer Institute of Lasallian Studies, and has served on the District’s Ministry Team, helping to formulate assessment criteria and procedures for district schools.

During the Affiliation Mass, surrounded by Christian Brothers, Lasallian Partners, family, friends, and St. Peter’s students, Frank was also presented with a proclomation by Staten Island Borough President, Mr. James Oddo, naming November 5, 2018 “Frank Cafaro Day.” In honor of the recognition St. Peter’s was closed that Monday, November 5th.
