Dear Brothers and Lasallian Colleagues,
Happy New Year! On behalf of the St. Vincent Strambi HS Community, I wish you God’s Blessings in 2015.
On Saturday, December 12 the Annual Christmas Dinner and Raffle was held in Bishop Clarke Hall. The entire student body and all the teachers helped make this a successful fundraising event. The highlight of the evening was the performance of “The Vacation”, a skit by the Drama Club. This event raised USD $3,000 for school programs.
We welcome two additional Brothers to the staff with the arrival of Brother Anthony from California and Brother Jerome from Rhode Island. Brother Anthony is teaching Math while Brother Jerome is tutoring in Math and Science.
This month, I am focusing on the Junior High Program, which consists of Form 1 or Grade 7 and Form 2 or Grade 8. The school day begins at 8 am with Devotion in the Hall, followed by 8 periods of 40 minutes each, a 30 minute Break and 30 minute lunch period. All students in the Junior High take 10 courses: English/Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies, IT, Performing Arts, Religion, Skills, Spanish, and PE. These courses lay the foundation for the students to successfully complete the CSEC Examination in Form 5 or Grade 11.
Thank you for your support of the Visitor’s Appeal, which supports technology in instruction.
Sincerely in our Patrons, St. John Baptist De La Salle and St. Vincent Strambi,
Brother Gus
Principal
