Anthony Baginski and Michael Miller have taken the next significant step in their discernment to become Brothers of the Christian Schools. On Saturday, July 10th, both men were invested with the formal Brother’s robe and rabat during a Robing Ceremony in Lincroft, New Jersey. The ceremony symbolizes a deepening of the candidates’ commitment while publicly assuming the identity of the Brother.

A graduate of Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, Maryland, Michael Miller made his first promises as a Brother in September of 2007. Before becoming involved in the Brothers’ Formation Program, Brother Michael graduated from Towson State with a Bachelors Degree in History, with a minor in Spanish. After college, Brother Michael volunteered with AmeriCorps for two years; first at a Native American Reservation in Colorado, followed by teaching in a school in Little Rock, Arkansas his second year. Since joining the Brothers’ Formation Program, Brother Michael has served the students of San Miguel School in Washington, DC. Brother Michael will be joined by Brother Anthony and three other Brothers as they head to California for a year of Novitiate, where they will engage in prayer and reflection as part of the Formation process.

Before he made first promises in September of 2009, Anthony Baginski spent 15 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, receiving three Commendation Medals for Outstanding Achievement. After his service in the Coast Guard, Brother Anthony spent seven years at Saint Bernard’s High School in Uncansville, Connecticut as a teacher and in administration, including two years as Principal. Since entering the Brothers of the Christian Schools Formation Program, Brother Anthony has served at La Salle College High School in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania and The San Miguel School of Camden, New Jersey, while pursuing a Masters Degree in Theology at La Salle University.
