Mission Executive Council
In her seven years as principal of La Salle Academy in Philadelphia, Teresa Diamond has been and continues to be a dynamic leader for both the faculty and the students. She has truly helped to make La Salle Academy the special place that it is.
Teresa, a native of Philadelphia, has always worked with and for students in the city. She holds degrees from both St. Joseph’s University and Chestnut Hill College. Teresa has been an educator for over twenty years and was principal of Our Lady of Hope School in North Philadelphia before coming to La Salle Academy. She has completed the Lasallian Leadership Institute and is currently serving on the Mission Executive Council.
As principal, Teresa has led La Salle Academy to a new level of excellence. She holds the teachers and thus the students to a high standard of academic excellence and challenges everyone to be his/her best self. Her support and encouragement of the faculty are instrumental in the notable teacher retention. She has brought many exciting projects and programs to LSA including the Just Relationships Program, Peer Mediators, and a new completely hands on science program, to name just a few. Teresa was also instrumental in guiding the faculty in achieving Middle States Accreditation in 2010.
Teresa is someone who lives the Lasallian Mission of providing “a human and Christian education to the young, especially the poor” every day of her life. Her wholehearted dedication to the students and their families is inspiring. She puts in countless hours of service helping the students to work to their full potential. At night and on the weekends, she can be found on the sidelines of every basketball and baseball game supporting and cheering on the students of LSA, assisting families, or brainstorming ideas of how to make La Salle even better. It is clear to all involved with La Salle Academy that Teresa Diamond genuinely cares about the students entrusted to her care.
