Le Moyne College presents its highest honor.

11/18/11 – Syracuse, NY – Each year at the Founders’ Day Gala, Le Moyne College presents its highest honor, the Simon Le Moyne Award, in recognition of those who make “significant humanitarian contributions to society, serve as prominent leaders in the community and demonstrate a deep responsibility and commitment to improving the quality of life for others.”

This year’s honorees, the Christian Brothers of Syracuse, embody each of these qualities, as they have dedicated their lives in service of their community. As part of the religious order founded by John Baptiste de Salle, the Christian Brothers are renowned for dedicating themselves to the education of young men and women, and have been responsible for the operation of numerous secondary and post-secondary institutions from which many of our local leaders have graduated. These prominent alumni serve as a living testament to the education they received under the direction of the Christian Brothers. Their dedication and service, particularly to those in need, makes our entire community a more vibrant place to live and work. It is with great pride that Le Moyne College will present its neighbor and spiritual partner, the Christian Brothers of Syracuse, with the 2011 Simon Le Moyne Award.
