The card will be sent to the Brothers and their communities, schools & ministries, DENA leaders, and other Lasallian and others throughout DENA.

Based on the Visit of the Three Kings
(the Three Wise Men / the Magi)

(from the Gospel of St. Matthew is taken from Matthew 2:1-11)

1  When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, behold, Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem
2  Saying, “Where is the new born King…?  We saw his star at its rising and have to do him homage.”
5  They said to them, “In Bethlehem of Judea…
9  And behold, the star that they had seen at its rising preceded them, until it came and stopped over the place where the child was.
10  They were overjoyed at seeing the star,
11   and on entering the house they saw the child with Mary his mother.  They prostrated themselves and did him homage.  Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Submission Guidelines

Email your final digital entry to derita@fscdena.org no later than Friday November 7, 2014.

  • Artwork considered for the cover of the Christmas card should match the spirit of this year’s theme.
  • The artwork should fit an area of 5″ x 7″ (horizontal or vertical)
  • Student entries should be submitted electronically as print ready, high resolution images (300dpi at actual size)
  • Please include the student’s name, age, grade, school, and art teacher name with the entry.

 

The winner of the contest will also have his/her artwork posted on the District website for the month of December, along with his/her photo and mini-biography. Please contact DENA Communications Director Mr. Philip De Rita with any questions or concerns. Thanks in advance for encouraging your students to participate, as well as encouraging their artistic abilities.
