The legacy District of Long Island – New England requested the honor of affiliation for four individuals who have been a great support to the Brothers and to our ministries. The recognition was approved by Brother Alvaro Rodriguez Echeverria, Superior General, and his Council.

Three of our honorees, who were sponsored by Brother Michael Reis of Tides Family Services, were recognized by the District of Eastern North America on October 24, 2009 at St. Mary Magdalene Parish in Springfield Gardens, NY at the celebration of the Eucharist. The liturgical music was performed by the Martin de Porres Faculty and Parish Choir. Brother Raymond Blixt, CEO of the Martin de Porres Programs, welcomed all present for this celebration. Letters of Affiliation were presented to Mary and John O’Donnell and Robert Stosser by Brother Jerome Sullivan, Auxiliary Visitor, along with congratulatory remarks on behalf of Brother Dennis Malloy, Visitor.

Following the ceremony, Martin de Porres Career Development Academy students prepared, managed, and joined in the reception food and festivities.

Brother Edmond Precourt, master of ceremonies for the day, invited the recipients to respond to their recognition. They have been impacted by the Lasallian mission and appreciate the opportunity to participate in the good works of all Lasallians.
