75Transiition_Eliphus_VictoOn May 14, 1939, Br. Eliphus Victor, provincial of the New York District, observed his 25th anniversary in the institute.

Br. Elwarn Michael (Hurley) observed his 25th anniversary in July 1939. He served as the director of St. Patrick’s Parish School in Newark, the Philadelphia Protectory for Boys (now St. Gabriel’s Hall), St. John’s Parish School (Orange, NJ), and the St. La Salle Auxiliary (Ammendale, MD).

Br. Florus Aloysius (Pearce) observed his 25th anniversary. At that time, he was the sub-director of the community at Calvert Hall College (Baltimore) and recently received an honorary degree at St. Francis College (PA).

75Transiition_Gervasian_AnthonyOn April 30, 1939, Br. Gervasian Anthony (Young) celebrated his 50th anniversary as a Christian Brother at Central Catholic HS (Pittsburgh).

Msgr. Joseph Farrell (Class of 1895 of Manhattan College and pastor of St. Peter’s Church on Staten Island) and Mr. John F. Brosnan (Class of 1911 of Manhattan College and prominent NYC lawyer) were given letters of affiliation (honorary membership) into the Christian Brothers during May 1939.
