New Ammendale Director

TransElwarnMichael007Brother Elwarn Michael (Hurley) arrived at Ammendale in early September 1937 to begin his work as the new director of the St. La Salle Auxiliary; he succeeded the late Brother Glastian Philip (Eagen) who died suddenly in July.

Brother Clementian Promoted

The highly respected Brother Clementian (Brennan) became the new director of novices at Ammendale.

Brother Flavius Bernard Dies

TransFBernard008Brother Flavius Bernard (Doody) died on November 3, 1937, aged 45. Born in Syracuse in 1892, he taught in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Orange (NJ), Pittsburgh, and Scranton, and was described as “a strict disciplinarian yet beloved and respected by all.”
