Building Bridges North-South: A Synodal Encounter Between Pope Francis & University Students is open to all to attend
Riverdale, NY – An exciting historic conversation is taking place this Thursday, February 24 from 1 pm-3 pm Eastern that will involve two Manhattan College students in a zoom dialogue with Pope Francis and 21 other students.
As part of the Synodal Encounter, Doriz Yari ’23 and Rebecca Kranich ’24 will join other University students from North, Central, and South America in sharing with the Pope their experiences, insights, and plans regarding educational projects that seek to justly transform environmental and economic realities for migrants and immigrants.
All are welcome to view this historic dialogue. If you and/or others wish to participate, registration for the Zoom link can be found at the BUILDING BRIDGES NORTH-SOUTH: A Synodal Encounter between Pope Francis and University Students website. A livestream will also be available.
Youth beseech elders, leaders in authority, for standing with them in the midst of current continuing conflicts over status and placement.
They seek a safe haven for their choices and dreams. This enormous outreach, through synod access, makes the plight of the migration concern visible worldwide. A start for furthering dialog from now forward, an outreaching platform where voices are heard. A long road lies ahead for the participants who go back to their countries after graduation. They spoke soul deep. We heard their pain. They must continue to speak out for support as progress moves at a snail’s pace. They must be the catalyst, become the leaders of the future world where justice and brotherhood are values. “And the youth shall lead us.”
Thank you, Loyola, for serving as host for the synod program for dialog with the youth and Pope Francis. A huge undertaking that went on with no connection interruptions here with worldwide access. The entire operation is a test of connectivity and passed with flying colors. Our students able to speak before and with our Pope Francis is an international internet and Zoom marvel. Kudos to you and all who worked to make the project happen. Praise God in His Heaven to shower continued blessings upon this synod outreach to the successful resolution of migration decisions. God inspire all peoples who participated to move ahead, firm in the truth of the endeavor in unity of intentions and purpose lifted up as His worthy plan.
Did I miss a blessing from Pope Francis? 🤔 Briefly distracted and then it was over.
Thank you for your sharing. I am worried that I lack creative ideas. It is your article that makes me full of hope. Thank you. But, I have a question, can you help me?
