Vitalis brings a unique Lasallian journey from his roots in Cameroon to his current ministry at Martin de Porres. His initial association with MDP began in Summer 2007 at the Buttimer Institute for Lasallian Studies. Today, Vitalis serves as Tech Coordinator at our Martin de Porres Career Academy as well as Lasallian Animator for all newly hired staff.
Vitalis has a long association with the Lasallian Educational Family having graduated from College Technique de La Salle in Douala and later serving as a teacher. At the urging of the Brother Visitor, Vitalis assumed a special role as Director of Lasallian Volunteers at the Mutien-Marie Center in Mbalmayo prior to his arrival into the USA in 2007.
Prior to his MDP ministry, Vitalis was a teacher at the Catalyst Charter School in Chicago for two years. He is a graduate of Buttimer class of 2009 and is currently completing his Masters Degree in Lasallian Studies from St. Mary’s College in Moraga. Vitalis also serves the international institute as a member of the council within the Secretariat for Lasallian Family and Association.
From his new ministry here at MDP, Vitalis continues to provide inspiration, leadership and counsel for the 24 Lasallian Volunteers at the Mutien-Marie Center and has been instrumental in obtaining funds to build a technical training center in Mbalmayo.
His unique life experience and Lasallian journey and joyful presence has been a special blessing to our MDP educational community.
